Ashley Hinden, Violin and Ensemble

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia Ashley Hinden began her formal violin studies at the age of 3 in a local Suzuki program. She participated in various violin competitions, church orchestras, and youth symphonies until moving to Tulsa in 2008 to pursue her education at Oral Roberts University. Ms. Hinden holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science with a double minor in music and Spanish and plans to pursue a career in hand therapy specifically catered to musicians. She has been a faculty member since 2010 and is currently a member of the Signature Symphony of Tulsa. Ms. Hinden has had the privilege of playing alongside many notable musicians and performers including Rod Stewart, The Irish Tenors, and Bernadette Peters. She enjoys the opportunities that teaching gives her to impart the joy and the discipline of playing an instrument, and to help keep the music alive here in Tulsa.

  • Education data on more that 25,000 secondary students reveals that students who report consistent high levels of involvement in instrumental music over the middle and high school years show “significantly higher levels of mathematics proficiency by grade 12.”
