Marilyn McCulloch

Piano, Violin and Folk Guitar

Marilyn grew up in Tulsa, attending Tulsa Public Schools, and was classically trained in piano and violin, as well as singing in choral groups from the age of 6. She was a member of the Tulsa Youth Symphony, as well as All-City and All-State Choirs. She taught herself guitar during junior high. After graduating from Littleton High School in Colorado, Marilyn attended Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, studying Piano, Voice, and Organ in the Music Performance program, and traveled with the Concert Choir.

Returning to Tulsa in the 70s, Marilyn has worked with the Arts and Humanities Council, Theater Tulsa, The ORU Suzuki School, and has maintained a private studio for several years. Active in community and environmental concerns, as well as in the homeschooling community, she has performed locally at festivals, coffeehouses, benefit events, and educational venues.

As a creative performing artist, Marilyn enjoys teaching and communicating the love of music to students. She is enthusiastic about what she can contribute to the music center as a faculty member.
