Matthew McCulloch
Violin
Matthew McCulloch graduated from the University of Tulsa in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in music composition, studying under Dr. Joseph Rivers, Dr. David Moore, and Dr. Roger Price. He began studying violin at age 5 and continued to study through college chiefly under the tutelage of Maureen O’Boyle. He has composed acoustic, electric, and electronic music for live performance as well as for scores in short films, web series, and video games.
Matthew has performed in the Signature Symphony at TCC and has done recordings for many groups such as the University of Tulsa Orchestra and the Oklahoma Composers Association, as well as handling annual recording duties for the Béla Rózsa Composition Competition at TU. In addition to violin, he also plays piano, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, drums, and various other instruments, hoping eventually to get better at saxophone.
