Roger Henry studied classical guitar at the North Carolina School of the Arts with Larry Almeida and Aaron Shearer. He graduated with a Bachelor’s at Salisbury University in Maryland in Psychology and Music.
Roger has taught private lessons for 30 years. He has transcribed by ear thousands of pop/rock songs, in addition to other styles. As a performer, he has played in several rock/blues bands and as a fingerstyle guitarist for weddings, fine dining, and other special events. From 2007-2020, he ran and taught at a music school in California until the pandemic forced it to close.
He can teach beginner lessons on piano, saxophone, flute, violin, viola, cello, recorder, banjo, mandolin concertina, harmonica, and bass. As a philosophy in teaching, he believes in keeping lessons fun and doable for students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
