Summer 2021: June 1 – July 30

Summer courses at The bART Center for Music this year will include Suzuki Violin for Beginners, Irish Fiddling, Group Piano for Beginners, Dave Broome’s Listening Room, Music and Movement for Young Children, and Rap and Hip-Hop with local rapper 1st Verse and friends. The bART believes that everyone should have the opportunity to be creative through music regardless of age, gender, ability, or ability to pay. Financial aid is available. Come explore music with us!

Music and Movement for Children (ages 3-5)

Kids ages 3-5 will move to the music in these high-energy, fun classes!

Piano Lab for Beginners (ages 5-6)

Introduce your 5-6 year old to the beautiful music they can make playing the piano!

Piano Lab for Beginners (ages 7-10)

Lessons will include individual and group playing, singing, as well as fun games to reinforce new concepts.

RAPS 101: From Ideas to Execution (ages 10-18)

Students will use hip-hop lyricism as a means to harness their creativity and personal expression through songwriting.

Pre-Twinkles Suzuki Violin Group (ages 4-6)

By the end of this class, our very young beginning violinists will be able to play three songs!

Beginning Suzuki Strings Class (ages 7-10)

This group class is a fun way to get begin learning and get experience playing with other musicians in an ensemble! 

Irish Fiddling (ages 13-18)

The saying goes, "the older the fiddle the sweeter the tune." Students in this class will learn Irish tunes and compete in fiddle battles!

Adult Beginning Electric Bass Class (ages 18 and up)

Students will create their own walking bass lines by learning how to play the twelve bar blues!

Mr. Broome’s Listening Room (ages 13-18)

Creativity and creation are the main topics of this wonderful opportunity--no music knowledge or experience required!
