MUSIC AND MOVEMENT FOR YOUNG VIOLINISTS

This Suzuki Method-based Music and Movement class is designed for very young aspiring violinists ages 2-3. Students will create their own box violin and focus on developing good violin posture. Students will also learn to foster internal rhythm and listening skills through learning the five “pre-Twinkle” Suzuki rhythms, body percussion, singing, dancing, playing with shakers, and more! By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation on which to continue developing as young violinists.

The class will take place June 14 through July 26 (7 weeks) at The bART Center for Music and will be taught by Hyland Spille. Classes will be held on Tuesdays; please select times that work for your family on the pre-registration form below, and the class will be offered at one of those times.

PRE-TWINKLES GROUP VIOLIN CLASS

Pre-Twinkle group Suzuki violin classes are designed for beginning violinists ages 4-5. (These five rhythms enable students to begin learning the “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” variations in Suzuki Book 1)

Students will also participate in ear training exercises and learn basic music theory. By the end of the course, students will be able to play three songs: “Open String Blues,” “Monkey Song,” and “Flower Song.” Group classes are an opportunity to learn with peers, play musical games, and make music as an ensemble!
