Zachary Reeves

World Percussion

Zack Reeves has played the drums since age 12. He studied classical percussion with Dr. Allen Teel in Abilene, Texas, and received a BFA in English and Philosophy at Oklahoma State University and an MFA in Creative Writing at The New School in New York City, where he played on stages like Rockwood Music Hall and The Bitter End.

Reeves leads Drum Club after school at Marshall Elementary through The bART and plays drums in the bands Tin Whiskers and Bear is Driving. If forced to think about things other than rhythm (good luck), he’ll tell you that Tchaikovsky is his favorite composer.

In his spare time, Reeves writes songs, poetry, and prose, obsessively scrolls Twitter, plays chess, and practices his paradiddles.
