Senior Spotlight 2023: Rebekah Robison

Name: Rebekah Robison
Instrument: Piano

How long have you been involved in music?
I’ve been involved in music since I began playing the piano when I was four years old. That makes about 13 years now! I’m very happy to say that 7 of these wonderful years took place at The bART 🙂

Why is music important to you?
Music is incredibly important to me. For me, music acts as a channel for self-expression. It has been a constant in my life for many many years; something that was especially important to me during the pandemic. Music has changed my life in so many ways, and I am looking forward to continuing this journey throughout the rest of my life.

Tell us about your time at The bART.
The bART is truly an incredible place, and I believe it has helped shape my life greatly. The atmosphere of The bART really does feel like a second home. The teachers at the bART (specifically Ms. Lantos, Dr. Eskitch, and Mr. Broome) have imparted to me a love for music and have showed me what being a musician is really all about. The bART has provided me with a very strong musical foundation I will be able to build upon for the rest of my career.

Where will you be going from here?
I will be going to Wheaton Conservatory of Music this fall and will be studying Piano Performance. I hope to one day become a college music professor. 🙂

A message from Rebekah:
I’d like to thank my family for always being there to support me and giving up their own time to bring me to The bART and sit through long concerts. Additionally, I would like to thank the scholarship committee at The bART for making it possible for me to attend. A BIG THANK YOU to my amazing teachers and friends I have had the privilege of meeting at The bART. I am very grateful for all the time we got to spend together.
